SPEAKER ŞENTOP: (VISIT OF ARMENIA BY THE SPEAKER OF US HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, PELOSI) NOT A SIGN OF GOOD INTENTION
Speaker of GNAT, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şentop stated that he did not see the visit of the Speaker of US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi to Armenia as a benevolent attitude that would benefit the peace in the region.

Şentop drew attention to the visit of the Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi to Armenia and reminded that the same person made a controversial visit to Taiwan last month.

Şentop said that it is normal for the speaker of the parliament of a country to visit another country, but this visit has the potential to be provocative and increase the crisis.

Sentop stated:

"In response to this visit, we met with the President of the Azerbaijan Milli Majlis. We thought that we would pay a visit to Azerbaijan any time soon, if appropriate, and that there was an intense demand from our deputies. President of the Azerbaijani Parliament was supposed to go to England today. He will attend the funeral in England, representing Azerbaijan.

We have always expressed that we are with Azerbaijan during this process, we have shown this in practice. We have stated that we will continue to stand by Azerbaijan resolutely from now on."

Speaker Şentop noted that they have been supporting Azerbaijan since the beginning, being conscious of the rights to liberate the occupied lands recognized by international law to Azerbaijan, Şentop stated, ‘We say that Armenia should also develop an attitude in favor of the continuation of peace and stability in the Caucasus. It is a very important issue for people and for our entire region.’
