Speaker of GNAT, Prof. Mustafa ŞENTOP published a message on the occasion of the Nowruz Festival. The message of Speaker of GNAT, Şentop:
I congratulate the Day Nowruz which is celebrated with local colours and beliefs in a very wide geography from Central Asia to the Balkans and many people identify and symbolize with their own cultural values. The day on which arrival of the spring is celebrated inherently and welcome with enthusiasm, keeps rejoicing and its enthusiasm alive together with resurrection in the nature and symbolizes the best hopes for person.
As known, the Day Nowruz, is enregistered on the list of representation of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity with the joint application of Azerbaijan, India, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Uzbekistan and Turkey in 2009. It is profoundly a positive contribution to the efforts to enhance cultural dialogue, respect and environment of understanding among societies speaking different languages, believing different religions and coming from different ethnicities that the Day Newroz is enregistered on UNESCO list of representation of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Dating back to thousands of years of tradition, Nowruz reflecting the colour of each regions is one of the best universal messages that our geography, which celebrates the day, sends to the world.
I wish that the resurrection, which this ‘New Day’ opening a door to spring from winter season represents, be a messenger of peace and fraternity, and desire this day to bring peace, welfare, well-being and comfort for all the people of Middle East and Mesopotamia with whom we share common cultural geography and for the people of other geographies in which this day is celebrated as fete.
