AUGUST 30 VICTORY DAY…


Mustafa Şentop, Speaker of the GNAT has paid a visit to Anıtkabir on the occasion of August 30 Victory Day and Turkish Armed Forces Day. Later, Şentop attended the ceremony hosted by President Erdoğan at the Presidential Palace. Şentop also attended the reception hosted by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as the “Commander in Chief” on the occasion of August 30 Victory Day and Turkish Armed Forces Day held at the Presidential Palace, where he chatted with the relatives of martyrs and had his souvenir photos taken. 30.08.2019

High state officials led by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan paid a visit to Anıtkabir on the occasion of August 30 Victory Day and Turkish Armed Forces Day.

The first ceremony within the context of the 97th Anniversary of the Great Victory was held at Anıtkabir. The ceremony began with the walk of high state officials on the Lion Road (Aslanlı Yol).

Mustafa Şentop-Speaker of the GNAT, Fuat Oktay-Vice President, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu-Leader of Republican People’s Party, General Yaşar Güler-Chief of Staff, members of the Presidential Cabinet, Devlet Bahçeli-Leader of Nationalist Movement Party, Meral Akşener-Leader of Good Party, presidents of higher judicial bodies, commanders in chief of armed forces, representatives of political parties, bureaucrats and other high state officals were present in the cortege led by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

President Erdoğan laid a wreath with star and crescent motifs to Ataturk’s Mausoleum. After a moment of silence, Turkish National Anthem was sung.

Erdoğan and high state officials in protocol later went to the National Pact (Misak-ı Milli) Tower where Erdoğan signed Anıtkabir’s Private Ledger.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan wrote the following on the ledger:

“Honorable Atatürk, today we are proud to celebrate the 97th Anniversary of the Great Victory. We remember firstly, Your Excellency, all our commanders, officers, soldiers and each and every member of our nation with gratitude, who have contributed to this great victory which is one of the golden circles of our history.

We are determined to protect this Republic which rose upon our august martyrs’ sacrifices and which was entrusted to us by You, at the cost of our lives. The bitter struggle we are currently conducting against threats that are targeting our national survival both within and outside our borders is the proof of that. No power will be able to withhold Turkey from reaching its 2023 goals. May You rest in peace.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan accepted congratulations on the occasion of August 30 Victory Day and Turkish Armed Forces Day.

Erdoğan went to the Presidential Palace after the ceremony held at Anıtkabir within the context of the 97th Anniversary of the Great Victory.

On the other hand, chiefs of foreign missions, several Ambassadors including Aleksey Yerhov-Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Ankara, David Michael Satterfield-Ambassador of the United States to Ankara congratulated Erdoğan on the occasion of August 30 Victory Day.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan hosted a reception as the “Commander in Chief” on the occasion of August 30 Victory Day and Turkish Armed Forces Day at the Presidential Palace.

President Erdoğan attended the reception held at the Presidential Palace’s “pool garden” with his wife Emine Erdoğan.

A short movie that was prepared specially by the Presidency for August 30 Victory Day and Turkish Armed Forces Day was screened at the reception.

Martyrs were commemorated at the movie, from the Battle of Malazgirt till the War of Independence and July 15th with an emphasis on “we share the same spirit”.

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan gave a speech after Millet Mosque’s Imam Adem Kemaneci chanted Koran.

After the speech, Erdoğan couple toured the reception area and greeted the guests.

Erdoğan couple chatted with Mustafa Şentop-Speaker of the GNAT, Devlet Bahçeli-Leader of Nationalist Movement Party, Meral Akşener-Leader of Good Party, Doğu Perinçek-Leader of Patriotic Party, Tansu Çiller-Former Prime Minister and her husband Özer Çiller and martyrs’ relatives and their souvenir photos were taken.
