Şentop reminded that the incident which made Muharram Ul Haram and the day of ashura meaningful for the world of islam and Muslims was the martyrizing of His Holiness Hüseyin on 10 Muharram 61 in Karbala and stated that the grief of His Holiness Hüseyin is still fresh in our minds and hearts.
Şentop emphasized that martyrizing of His Holiness Hüseyin is a heart-wrenching pain which teaches us exemplary lessons about today and tomorrow. Şentop expressed that there are some people who are trying to make the earth the center of hunger, thirst, poverty, injustice, oppression and deceit and stated the following:
“Today, mankind is the victim and prisoner of a great depression and siege. With this, we, who are the objects of the blessed message and holy kalam, must follow the lead of His Holiness Hüseyin who was not afraid to attempt an uprising in Karbala and to prefer justice over oppression and nobility over lowness. Here, today we are remembering the noble martyrdom of His Holiness Hüseyin who is the august martyr of Islam. However, what we must do is to affiliate ourselves with that nobility, martyrdom and justness.
We have to take the love of ahlul bayt as a reference in order to spoil the game of dirty centers and powers who are trying to separate us through all sorts of definitions and who are trying to ruin our unity and solidarity by using ethnic, denominational or ideological differences as discriminatory factors through playing dirty games both within and outside our borders.”
