According to the information received from the Coordinatorship of Communication of the Presidency of the GNAT, Speaker Şentop stated that he had learned with deep sorrow that a plane traveling from Jakarta to Pontianak crashed right after departure killing over 60 people and wished God’s mercy upon those who have lost their lives and conveyed his condolences to the families of the victims and to the brotherly people of Indonesia.
Şentop indicated that they attach great importance to being in solidarity with Indonesia during these difficult times, “As a country who always extends a helping hand first after such natural disasters, we are at your disposal to provide financial and spiritual support upon demand.”
Şentop told that it is satisfactory that high level contacts between parliaments of the two countries continued without any delay even during the Covid-19 pandemic, “I was pleased to be your host last November. I also wish to visit your country upon your kind invitation in the upcoming period.”
Şentop indicated that they are ready to cooperate with brother and friend Indonesia in each and every level including vaccination studies in order to diminish the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, “We have a great potential in terms of our economic and trade relations, especially in defence industry and aerospace industry. I’d like to state that our President H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is planning to visit Indonesia this year in order to further develop our bilateral cooperation.”
Şentop conveyed his condolences to the people of Indonesia, “I pray to God to not let us encounter such painful events.”
