President Ilir Meta mentioned the excellent relations between the two countries and indicated that these relations must be further developed in the future and that cooperation in increasing Turkish investments in Albania needs to be strengthened.
Meta said, "As two NATO allies, cooperation experience and strategic partnership between Albania and Turkey continue to serve as an important platform of common efforts towards security and peace."
President Meta thanked for the commitments of Turkey and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in regards to building residences and a district hospital in Fier after the earthquake in November 2019.
Şentop also said that the relations between Turkey and Albania must be carried further.
Şentop reminded that the bilateral relations were increased to "strategic partnership" level during Prime Minister Edi Rama’s recent official visit to Turkey and stated that following the earthquake in Albania, they laid the foundation for 522 residences in December 2020 and the turn-key date is August 2021.
Speaker Şentop told that he is closely following the developments in Albania and comprehensive reform work actualized within the framework of EU membership process and stated that Turkey will continue to support Albania’s membership to EU and its integration with Euro-Atlantic institutions.
Şentop wished success for the elections which will be held in Albania on April 25.
