SPEAKER ŞENTOP RECEIVED AL-SABAH, MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND THE MINISTER OF STATE OF KUWAIT

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şentop, Speaker of the GNAT stated that they consider the security and stability of the Gulf Area as much as Turkey’s own security and stability, “The strong dialogue developed among all the brotherly countries in the Gulf Area and in the Middle East, is the only option in terms of tranquility and stability. Turkey is ready to engage in dialogue with all the countries in the region without any prerequisites.” 08.04.2021

Speaker Mustafa Şentop received Sheikh Ahmed Nasır Al-Muhammed Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs of Kuwait.

Speaker Şentop told that he is pleased to host Al-Sabah and the accompanying delegation at the GNAT and that Turkey and Kuwait are two friendly and brotherly countries with ties rooted throughout history and in this sense, Kuwait always has an exceptional place for Turkey.

Speaker Şentop indicated that the delegation is in Turkey in order to attend the second meeting of the Joint Committee for Turkey-Kuwait Cooperation:

“Your country also has a strong parliamentary tradition in the region. Close relations between our parliaments are essentially a beautiful reflection of this picture. The dialogue between our parliaments is a value that enables us to carry our bilateral relations further. Dear Minister, the visit of my dear brother Marzouq Al Ghanim, Speaker of the National Assembly of Kuwait to our country last year has been a milestone in terms of our interparliamentary relations. We come together, meet and negotiate with H.E. Al Ghanim on various occasions. We exhibit constructive cooperation and solidarity in many international meetings including the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Member States (PUIC) and Interparliamentary Union. Joint Action Plan signed by you, the Foreign Ministers, essentially attributes to interparliamentary relations and strengthens this dimension of our relations.”
