"Brother of Mecca, Medina and Al-Quds;

Pealf of the world that is in kings’ dreams;

As Nedim sacrificed his country for it, it is unique, a single pearl between two seas, a sun that brightens the world:

As Yahya Kemal likes everything about it, August Istanbul with seven hills;

Source of inspiration for poets and writers, subject of many artworks and subject of our dear Prophet’s gospels, therefore, witnessed many expeditions and sieges until the conquest since it is an Islamic city, holy city that harbors Mihmandar-ı Resul and many companions of our Prophet;

And finally, the city where Fatih Sultan Mehmed, Sultan of Sultans, great Sultan of the world entered through Topkapı on his horse gloriously 568 years ago, on May 29 after a siege that lasted 53 days;

How beautiful is the Commander who conquered you, how beautiful is the army that conquered you. We thank God Almighty for granting you to us, for making us fall in love with you.
