Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şentop, Speaker of the GNAT met with representatives of Turkish society in Vienna where he is currently at in order to attend the Interparliamentary Union (IPU) 5th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament (5WCSP). September 7, 2021

Şentop received Recep Tayyip Gültekin and Mikail Özen who rescued a wounded police officer who was injured in a terrorist attack in Vienna almost a year ago, at the Turkish Embassy in Vienna. In the meeting, the things that happened during the aforementioned terrorist attack was discussed.

Afterwards, Speaker Şentop received representatives of Turkish society residing in Vienna. Şentop chatted with Turkish citizens and later on they took souvenir photographs.

Akif Çağatay Kılıç, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the GNAT and Deputy for Istanbul (Justice and Development Party), Ravza Kavakcı Kan, Head of the Turkish Delegation to Interparliamentary Union (IPU) and Deputy for Istanbul (Justice and Development Party), Muhammed Fatih Toprak, Chairman of Turkey-Austria Interparliamentary Friendship Group and Deputy for Adıyaman (Justice and Development Party) and Ozan Ceyhun, Ambassador of Turkey to Vienna were also present at the reception.

Afterwards, Speaker Şentop and the accompanying parliamentary delegation attended the dinner hosted by Ambassador Ahmet Muhtar Gün, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Turkey to the Office of the United Nations in Vienna.
