SPEAKER ŞENTOP MEETS WITH AMBASSADORS OF PARLIAMENTARY UNION OF THE ORGANIZATION OF ISLAMIC COOPERATION MEMBER STATES (PUIC)


Parliament Speaker Mustafa Şentop condemns Rasmus Paludan, the leader of the far-right Strict Direction Party (Stram Kurs) in Sweden, for burning the holy book of Muslims, the Qur’an and says, “We invite the whole world and international organizations to take the necessary measures and take a principled stance to prevent these acts that threaten not only freedom of expression and religion, but also world peace.” April 19, 2022

Şentop met with the ambassadors of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Member States (PUIC), the heads of the friendship groups of the member countries in the GNAT, at the iftar.

Making a speech at the iftar at the GNAT Ceremony Hall, Şentop reacted to the event that Rasmus Paludan, the leader of the far-right Strict Direction Party (Stram Kurs), burned te Qur’an under the protection of the police and published it on social media.

Empasizing that there are vile and provocative attacks against the holy book of Muslims, the Qur’an, Şentop said, “We strongly condemn all these events. We invite the whole world and international organizations to take the necessary measures and take a principled stance to prevent these acts that threaten not only freedom of expression and religion, but also world peace.
