Speaker Şentop published a congratulatory message on the occasion of 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day.

Şentop stated the following in his message:

“My Young Friends;

Happy May 19 Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day. The fact that the date on which the first step of our National Struggle was taken was presented to our youth is the most important message given to the whole world.

The first step is the first spark. The horizon of the journey from Istanbul to Samsun was the future, and the goal was independence.

Future, You, Our Future…

This future is never a weight on your shoulders and a spiral of expectations.

The future is the herald of times that will make you happier and more hopeful in spirit, heart and mind, and whose light will illuminate today.

The traces and decisions you will follow in your life journey are your free will. We will always be your helpers on this journey. We are with you whenever you need our support.

However, no force can interfere with your belief, will, opinion, decision, or intimidate with bullying or fear. Goals and dreams can never be held in captivity. They cannot hold the wings of those whose goals exceed the sky and whose dreams do not fit into the horizon. We proudly bear witness to this fact as we march towards the Century of Türkiye as a nation.

We are proud. We are proud of all your efforts in technology, science, art, sports, literature, civil society, politics, in short, in life. We are proud of our young people who rushed to the aid of their brothers day and night after the earthquake disaster we experienced. We are proud of our young people who put their hearts on the line for oppressed people all over the world, for all souls. We are proud of your high democratic maturity, which is a precedent for the whole world.

With the encouragement of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in politics as well as in all areas of life, and paving the way for our youth, our young deputies will take office in the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye as a result of the 14 May elections. With the energy and ideas of our youth, our Parliament, the heart of our Nation, will become even stronger.

Dear Youngsters; I sincerely believe that you will express your will to the ballot box by empowering our democracy with full participation in the Presidential elections that will take place on May 28.

We know the love in your heart. When this love is combined with the excitement of your youth, nothing can stand in your way. This love is the love of each of us for our Homeland, Nation, and Flag. Life, the world, everything changes. Except this love...

I wish you all, more happy moments with your family, friends and loved ones. It is not a condition for happiness, but success will, of course, follow your journey.

We have great faith and hope. But our love is the greatest.
